The Polestar Pilates Mat Series trains students to become teachers of the highest calibre; well versed in Pilates principles, program design, exercise sequencing techniques and practice, with emphasis on group dynamics for the Pilates Matwork. You will be confident in verbal, tactile and combined cueing practices to facilitate motor learning, and be competent to work with healthy clients one-on-one and in group.
The Polestar Pilates curriculum has earned the reputation worldwide as the most scientifically based Pilates curriculum, taking Pilates education to a new pinnacle. Course format includes lectures, reading assignments, research literature review, writing assignments and more.
The Complete Matwork Series includes the following 4 Units of competency from the Certificate IV in Polestar Pilates Matwork Instruction Method (10520NAT). Students who wish to continue with their studies and complete the Cert IV Bridging course will receive direct credit for these when enrolling / upgrading.

The Complete Pilates Matwork Series consists of 4 x two-day on-site courses which must be taken in the following order: Polestar Principles (PP) Mat 1, Mat 2, Mat 3. These are delivered on Saturday & Sunday; 8am – 5pm approx 1 month apart. The course repertoire consists of more than 60 exercises with variations and modifications. PP - Polestar Pilates Principles of Movement (2-days) Experience and apply the theories of movement that lay the foundation for Polestar Pilates in this prerequisite for all Polestar courses. This non-apparatus course uses evidence-based research and covers our six basic movement principles which are used throughout the Polestar Pilates curriculum. You will discover the passage ways for movement throughout the body and develop the tools to provide either assistance for or challenge your clients in helping them achieve their goals. Polestar Principles will bring to life your ability to assess, problem-solve, design and modify exercise programs to meet specific needs and abilities. Mat 1, Mat 2 & Mat 3 (3 x 2 day courses) The Complete Matwork Series has 3 units scheduled approximately one month apart. Each unit is two days, Saturday and Sunday. The time between units allows you to practice, complete log book hours, assignments and become comfortable with the material before continuing on to the next These Units review the postural screening methodology and the six principles learned in Principles, then applies them to exercises on the Mat and small props. Students will receive a comprehensive didactic and theoretical review and practical training using a clinical reasoning approach. Each Unit consists of a formal lecture, demonstrations, labs, reading assignments, research literature review, and writing assignments. Also covered:
