Gateway is an opportunity for Health Practitioners and Fitness Instructors to add Pilates movement experiences to their current practice, and those looking to further their personal knowledge and experience of Pilates.
Pilates is about efficient exercise, in a way that strengthens, rehabilitates, and prevents injuries. The Gateway Pilates Course is an introduction to the Pilates Method and the Polestar approach.
You will gain a deeper understanding of the Pilates Method, learn selected Pilates Mat and Equipment exercises, and walk away with the practical skills to apply correct form and sequencing.
This three-hour online training is a requirement for all who attend any of the Gateway Pilates training courses. The online course fortifies the fundamental principles and history of Pilates, and consists of three lectures each followed by a brief written exam online:
Part 1: History of Pilates and Evolution
Part 2: Polestar Movement Concepts
Part 3: Professional Ethics (Scope of Practice)
This two-day Pilates Mat experience examines how to apply Polestar Pilates Mat exercises, and is comprised of a set of four sequences using preparatory and original Pilates Mat exercises. The exercises are explained in a lab format, with time allotted for teaching and demonstration. Online support and practice cards are provided to each participant as a takeaway resource. Gateway educators provide feedback directly to each participant to become proficient with the Gateway Matwork. Gateway Pilates online must be completed prior to attending.
This two-day Pilates Reformer experience examines how to apply Polestar Pilates Reformer exercises through a set of four sequences totalling 18 exercises. The exercises are explained in a lab format, with time allotted for teaching and demonstration. Practice cards are provided to each participant as a takeaway resource. Gateway educators provide feedback directly to each participant to become proficient with the Gateway Reformer work. Gateway Pilates online must be completed prior to attending.
“As Physiotherapists, the Gateway Course run by Polestar Pilates was extremely beneficial! The instructors were fantastic, extremely knowledgeable and able to adapt theory and practise to each individual.
There was a great balance between hands on practical work and the necessary theory to teach Pilates effectively. The course was so good that it made a participant who wasn’t quite sold on Pilates very interested in pursuing it further!”
